WALKING TOURS / Promenade Plantée

A secret garden in the heart of Paris, hidden in plain sight: just above eye level, for a bird’s eye view of the city.

The Promenade Plantée (also known as the Coulée verte René-Dumont or the Coulée verte) is a nearly 5km-long elevated park in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The Promenade Plantée, opened in 1993, is built atop old 19th-century railway infrastructure and was the first green space of its kind (inspiring projects like New York City’s High Line, for example).
